Piper Companies is seeking a

Principal Network Engineer

to support an industry leader in financial services for a permanent hybrid role based in Dallas, TX. The

Principal Network Engineer

role will focus on Application Traffic Management (ATM) and the overall F5 & AVI Load Balancing design

Responsibilities of the Principal Network Engineer:

Lead, design, and support F5 and AVI load balancing solutions for mission-critical applications across on-premises, multi-cloud service providers, and hybrid environments.
Provide overall Application Traffic Management (ATM) architecture, ensuring secure, scalable, and highly available connectivity for enterprise and customer-facing platforms.
Craft and deliver new enterprise networking solutions while enabling new customer connectivity initiatives.
Consult with business partners to recommend standard methodologies and technology options aligned with enterprise platforms and best practices.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to F5 and AVI Application Traffic Management environments.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Network Operations, Network Engineering, and other Network Services teams to ensure 24x7 availability and reliability.
Participate in shift-oriented operational support and contribute to incident response, problem management, and tactical change management activities.
Apply ITSM methodologies to ensure consistent delivery of information technology services that meet evolving business needs.
Support planned maintenance and implementation activities, including evening and weekend work as required.
Qualifications of the Principal Network Engineer:

4-6 years of hands-on engineering experience installing, configuring, and supporting load balancing technologies using F5
Proven experience supporting and troubleshooting hybrid load balancing infrastructures, including on-premises, multi-cloud, and cloud-native services such as ALBs and GSLBs.
AWS and/or Azure cloud network engineering experience.
Deep understanding of Application Traffic Management and traffic analysis concepts.
Strong network engineering and troubleshooting skills across complex enterprise environments.
Working knowledge of routing and networking technologies including BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VRF, and VPNs preferred
Experience with enterprise security policies and networking security best practices.
Exposure to automation tools and scripting such as Ansible and Python preferred
Familiarity with Agile methodologies and frameworks.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with demonstrated experience leading technical initiatives or projects.
Strong customer-facing skills with a passion for solving complex technical challenges.
Network-related certifications preferred
Compensation for the Principal Network Engineer includes:

Salary range: $130,000 - $140,000 USD per year based on professional experience
Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and PTO
