About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead its global environmental funding operations. The successful candidate will be a results-oriented change leader with a proven track record in senior leadership, particularly in high-impact, multi-stakeholder, and global organizations. The CEO will be responsible for strategy development, operational management, and relationship development, with a focus on the integrated approach to addressing the world's most pressing environmental challenges. Key competencies include exceptional leadership, management, and influencing skills, as well as a deep commitment to environmental and social issues. The role requires a leader with a global perspective, strong integrity, and the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders, including government officials, the private sector, and civil society.
The ideal CEO for the company will have a strong background in environmental protection, development, and finance, and a proven ability to lead through transformational change. They must be results-oriented, with a strategic vision, and the ability to influence and negotiate at the highest levels. The role demands a leader with a strong understanding of financial management, experience in engaging with the private sector, and a commitment to the principles of gender equality and sustainable development. The CEO will be expected to work closely with the company's Council, and its 18 implementing agencies, and to represent the organization globally. Fluency in English is essential, and a diverse, multi-cultural background is highly valued.
