
Line Coordinator

Davis Staffing, Inc. is seeking a Line Coordinator for a customer in Matteson, Il. The Line Coordinator is a critical leadership role responsible for maximizing the operational efficiency of automated production lines. This position serves as the "on-site conductor,"overseeing frontline operators, preventing bottlenecks through proactive communication with cross-functional teams, and ensuring that production targets are met within a safe and disciplined environment.
Job Qualifications Include:
Experience:
Team lead, line coordination, or supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment (preferred).
Technical skills:
Basic understanding of automated production lines and industrial safety standards.
Communication:
Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with multiple departments and external partners.
Flexibility:
Ability to work 12-hour shifts on a 4-on/4-off rotation (including nights, weekends, and holidays as scheduled).
Leadership:
Ability to lead, motivate, and manage a diverse workforce with a firm, professional approach.
Job Responsibilities Include:
Personnel Management & Operations
Attendance & manpower allocation:
Monitor operator attendance and assign tasks based on skill levels to optimize line flow.
Performance monitoring:
Supervise operator performance in real time; provide on-site coaching and feedback to maintain productivity.
Break time management:
Ensure operators adhere to designated break schedules to minimize downtime and maintain operational consistency.
Safety & Compliance (EHS)
PPE compliance:
Enforce safety protocols by verifying required PPE is worn, including safety vests and steel-toe shoes.
SOP adherence:
Monitor and guide operators to ensure tasks are performed according to standard operating procedures and safety guidelines.
Issue Resolution & Cross-functional Coordination
Technical & material troubleshooting:
Serve as the primary point of contact when issues arise (e.g., material shortages, equipment malfunctions, or manpower deficits). Coordinate with Warehouse, Maintenance, or vendors to resolve bottlenecks.
Incident reporting:
Escalate significant line issues or safety incidents to leadership following the established reporting process.
Job Details Include:
8:00 am - 8:00 pm or 8:00 pm - 8:00 am
Temp to Hire
$25 - $26 an hour
