
Handler, Cargo (Part Time)

Play a key role in delivering exceptional customer service and supporting the ancillary services offered by Modern Aviation.
Be responsible for communicating effectively with customers, ensuring their needs are met promptly and professionally.
Work both inside the FBO Terminal, and outside on the Aircraft Parking Ramp.
Coordinate with the Manager, Line Services and the broader leadership team to respond to inquiries, fulfill service requests, and escalate any issues or concerns to the appropriate manager.
Meet, greet, and welcome passengers, and flight crews, of customer aircraft that arrive on the aircraft parking ramp
Operate heavy equipment such as belt loaders, k-loaders, deice trucks, etc.
Build, load, and secure LD7 (and other ULD, Unit Load Device) containers in accordance with airline or customer load plans
Stage, sort, and label cargo for build-up or break-down activities
Ensure cargo security and conduct dangerous goods and hazardous material checks (Class 6 & 10)
Verify airway bills, manifests, and cargo documentation for accuracy
Marshal aircraft in and out of position
Follow TSA, FAA, IS-BAH, DOT and OSHA regulation and safety protocols
Escort customer vehicles on and off the airfield when necessary
Support flight crews with any service needs they may require including baggage and transportation assistance, once passengers are taken care of
Direct the flight crews to the terminal for placing any fuel or service orders
Help the flight crews with all of their operational needs during departure preparation
Follow up to ensure all fuel and service orders for departures have been completed so the aircraft can depart on time
Load and offload luggage from the baggage carts, transportation vehicles, and aircraft
Partner with fellow teammates where applicable when not servicing the customer
Thank the customers for their business and visit, welcome them back to visit again
Champion improving best practices to provide excellent customer service
Assume additional responsibilities, to support Modern Aviation's evolving business objectives

Possess strong communication skills-written, verbal, and radio-to keep everyone informed and coordinated
Understand the phonetic alphabet and aviation acronyms, enabling clear and accurate communication in a fast-paced environment
Maintain positive working relationships with teammates, contributing to a collaborative and supportive team culture
Bring customer service and/or line service experience that enhances the client experience and operational excellence
Be ready to learn and apply safety procedures, recognizing and responding to potential hazards on the airfield
Be comfortable learning and using various computer software and Point of Sale systems to support daily operations
Thrive under pressure, staying calm and focused in dynamic situations
Be capable of making sound operational decisions when necessary, ensuring safety and efficiency
A high school diploma or GED associate degree in aviation/business-related field is preferred
Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to pass an airport security background check
Must have open work availability as schedules vary, including evenings and weekends
Prior aviation, warehouse, cargo, and/or ramp experience is preferred
Familiarity with Unit Load Devices (ULDs) a plus
Knowledge of IATA and ICAO regulations preferred
Ability to read, write, and understand the English language
Capability to pass a background check and drug screen
Flexible availability - may include nights, weekends, and holidays based on flight schedules

Modern Aviation's Pay Range -
$20 - $22/hr. *This position is part-time and therefore not eligible to receive benefits.
The Modern Aviation pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, or other laws.
Working conditions and physical demands for this role -
Repeatedly work in areas where the noise level is loud
Regularly work in high, precarious places
Commonly around regular vibration and chemicals including aviation fuels, oils, and lavatory fluid
Frequently stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, reaching, grasping, stretching, walking, sitting, and crawling actions
Being observant of moving mechanical parts
Regularly lift 50 pounds various needs
Working in outdoor weather conditions including wet and/or humid conditions including extreme hot and cold weather
