About Team Gleason
There is no cure for ALS. Until there is, there is Team Gleason.
Founded in 2011 by Steve Gleason, a former NFL special teams player for the New Orleans Saints, and his wife, Michel Varisco Gleason, Team Gleason was born from a personal decision to fight differently. When Steve was diagnosed with ALS that year, he refused to surrender to the disease, to despair, or to the idea that a life with ALS could not be lived fully. That refusal became a movement.
No White Flags. It is the mantra that drives everything we do.
Team Gleason is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to serving people living with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, a terminal neuromuscular disease. Since our founding, we have provided over $65 million in assistive technology, equipment, adventure experiences, and care services to people living with ALS and their families. Through advocacy, community, and an unrelenting commitment to ending this disease, we work to ensure that every person facing an ALS diagnosis has the tools and support to not just survive, but thrive.
Our mission is to improve life for people living with ALS and those who care for them by delivering innovative technology and equipment, and by providing and empowering an improved life experience. Our vision is a world where people living with ALS have the resources and the opportunities to not only continue living, but continue living productive, purposeful, and meaningful lives.
We are a mission-first organization. Every hire, every decision, and every dollar exists in service of that vision. If you are driven by purpose and ready to bring your best to work that genuinely matters, Team Gleason is where that work happens.
