Position Overview
A large, high-growth diversified enterprise is seeking a strategic and operationally strong
Chief Financial Officer / VP of Finance
to lead the finance and accounting function across a complex multi-entity organization. This individual will provide executive financial leadership for a business approaching
$1B in annual sales
and overseeing
42 entities
across automotive, real estate, parts distribution, and rental operations.
This role is ideal for a finance executive who can balance strategic leadership with hands-on oversight in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. The CFO will partner closely with ownership, the CEO, and the enterprise board to support continued growth, improve reporting visibility, strengthen controls, and lead a large accounting organization through expansion and transformation.

Key Responsibilities
Provide executive financial leadership across a diversified enterprise with
42 legal entities
Oversee all accounting, finance, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash management, and internal controls
Lead and develop a
30-person accounting team , including a highly centralized accounting structure supporting the automotive group
Partner with the CEO, ownership, and board on financial strategy, growth initiatives, and enterprise performance
Support finance operations across automotive dealerships, ancillary business lines, real estate operations, rental operations, and parts distribution
Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting across a large and evolving entity structure
Drive process improvement and scalability as the organization continues to grow
Oversee external relationships, including the company’s CPA firm specializing in the automotive industry
Provide insight into profitability by business line, entity, and operating division
Support board reporting and executive-level performance analytics
Leverage reporting tools and systems including
QuickBooks Pro ,
CDK , and
Power BI
Partner with operational leadership in both production and management divisions to drive financial performance
Maintain and improve financial support for a management company that operates as a profit center
Help oversee and support an
ESOP that has been self-funded for 11 years
Ideal Background
Progressive finance leadership experience, ideally in a
multi-entity ,
high-growth , and
operationally complex
environment
Experience in automotive, dealership, multi-location businesses Required
Strong knowledge of accounting operations, financial controls, consolidations, and executive reporting
Experience leading large accounting teams and developing leadership beneath the CFO level
Ability to operate both strategically and tactically in an entrepreneurial organization
Comfort working across multiple business lines with different operating models
Experience with private ownership structures and board interaction
CPA preferred
