Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced

Construction Manager

to support SoCalGas at the Honor Rancho facility near Santa Clarita. This role will oversee field construction activities for heavy industrial infrastructure, with a preference for candidates experienced in

gas compression facilities

or similar energy/utility environments. The Construction Manager will be responsible for ensuring that all work is executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project plans, specifications, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Provide

onsite construction management and oversight

for heavy industrial and facility-based construction activities
Coordinate and manage contractors, subcontractors, and field personnel to ensure work progresses according to schedule and budget
Monitor construction activities for

compliance with plans, specifications, safety standards, and SoCalGas requirements
Lead daily field coordination, including planning meetings, progress tracking, and issue resolution
Review and interpret drawings, specifications, submittals, and RFIs
Ensure adherence to

strict safety protocols , particularly in gas and high-risk environments
Identify and mitigate field issues, constructability concerns, and potential risks
Track and document progress, including daily reports, field observations, and change conditions
Coordinate with engineering, project management, and client representatives to support project execution
Support inspection, testing, and commissioning activities as required

Qualifications
Experience as a

Construction Manager or Senior Field Supervisor

on heavy industrial or utility projects
Gas compression facility experience strongly preferred

(or similar oil & gas / energy infrastructure experience)
Strong background in

heavy construction facilities , including mechanical, civil, and/or electrical scopes
Proven ability to manage field operations, contractors, and multiple work activities simultaneously
Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and field execution practices
Experience working in

high-compliance, safety-critical environments
Excellent communication and coordination skills with field teams and stakeholders
Ability to work

extended onsite schedule (5–6 days/week)

Education (Recommended / Preferred)
Bachelor’s degree in

Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering , or a related field

(preferred, not required)
Equivalent

field experience in heavy construction or utility/energy projects

will be considered in lieu of a degree
