Epic Application Analyst

Onsite once a month when Epic is onsite - Rockledge FL

Epic Application Analyst - Beaker Clinical Pathology (CP) Certified contractor with Microbiology experience. Will need Epic go-live experience. This candidate will be required to come on-site for one week in April and May as well as onsite support for our June go-live with varying hours.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Epic Analyst is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the Epic EHR (electronic health records) systems within the organization. To do this, the Analyst works closely with healthcare providers, IT staff, and other business stakeholders by providing a customer centric experience. Also acting as a communication hub, this position coordinates the information technology activities for their assigned areas based on user requirements.

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Understand user workflows, core functions, and processes of the supported business area which may include inpatient, ancillary, ambulatory, or revenue cycle.
Coordinate with clinical end users and apply knowledge of user workflow to assist users in defining requirements.
Designs, configures, tests, troubleshoots and maintains programs/applications.
Apply detailed knowledge of system functionality to implement new applications and modules.
Document business requirements, current and future state workflows, and any custom builds as appropriate.
Coordinate and participate in all testing phases of associated applications during implementations and upgrades.
Research and resolve issues with external and internal resources as needed.
Provide support during go-live events, including during standard off-hours support times.
Lead small and medium-sized projects with minimal managerial oversight. Develop key project management tools, including project plans, issues logs, testing plans, and go-live events.
Responsible for ongoing on-call duties for incidents outside of business hours.
Participate in cross-training for personal development and to ensure adequate secondary coverage on all applications.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:

Associate degree
Certification : Epic certified upon hire or within six months of hire.
Work Experience:

Two years in healthcare or one year of experience supporting technology systems.

Work Experience in lieu of degree:

Four years in healthcare or supporting technology systems.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

o Proficient in Microsoft Office - Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPointo Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervisiono Strong critical thinking skillso Strong communication skills and professional presenceo Ability to maintain composure in stressful office environment
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
Work Experience:

Experience in healthcare, specifically areas in inpatient, ancillary, ambulatory or revenue cycle

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Majority of time involves sitting or standing; occasional walking, bending, stooping
Long periods of computer time or at workstation
Light work that may include lifting or moving objects up to 20 pounds with or without assistance.
May be exposed to inside environments with varied temperatures, air quality, lighting and/or low to moderate noise
Communicating with others to exchange information.
Visual acuity and hand-eye coordination to perform tasks
Workspace may vary from open to confined; on site or remote
May require travel to various facilities within and beyond county perimeter;
may require use of personal vehicle
