There are positions for Summer Grounds Workers available beginning May 25 and continuing through September 4, 2026. These positions work 8 hours per day/5 days per week (approximately 7:00 a.m - 3:30 p.m.)

Summary of Duties:
The Summer Grounds Crew member assists in the seasonal upkeep and beautification of all district properties, including K-12 campuses, and athletic fields. This is a hands-on, physically active role focused on maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming outdoor environment for students, staff, and the community during the summer months.

Key Responsibilities
Turf Maintenance: Operate push mowers, zero-turn mowers, and weed-whackers to maintain lawns and fields.
Landscaping: Assist with weeding flower beds, spreading mulch, planting seasonal greenery, and pruning low-hanging branches or shrubs.
Site Cleanup: Perform daily debris removal, including leaf blowing, picking up litter, and emptying outdoor trash receptacles.
Athletic Field Prep: Help groom dirt infields, line paint for summer leagues (if applicable), and ensure bleacher areas are clean.
Equipment Care: Conduct basic daily checks on equipment (fuel, oil, cleaning) and report any mechanical issues to the Grounds Manager.
Safety Compliance: Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and follow all district safety protocols regarding tool usage and outdoor work.

Qualifications Required:
Understand and carry out both written and oral instructions. Knowledge of grounds equipment and tasks. Maintain cooperative working relationships and harmony within the workplace. Ability to lift 50 to 75 lbs. occasionally.

Rate of Pay:
$15.50
