Ruskin, a subsidiary of Air Distribution Technologies, Inc., is seeking a Product Data & Rules Specialist to support and maintain customer-facing software tools that drive accurate product configuration, pricing, and selection for engineered HVAC solutions.
Job Summary
This role is responsible for designing, coding, maintaining, and validating rules and product data within a web-based Configure-to-Order (CPQ) platform. The Product Data & Rules Specialist works cross-functionally with Product Management, Engineering, Sales, Marketing, and IT to ensure configuration accuracy, system usability, and seamless integration of product, pricing, and customer data across internal and customer-facing systems.
What You'll Do
Design, code, test, and maintain configuration and pricing rules within a web-based CPQ platform using JavaScript.
Translate product, engineering, and business requirements into rule-based logic controlling option availability, validation, and pricing.
Establish and maintain structured product data including models, options, categories, properties, performance data, and pricing tables.
Support integration of configuration data with dynamic reports such as submittals, drawings, and downstream ERP systems.
Maintain customer account data including company, branch, user, and discount structures in alignment with Sales and Marketing requirements.
Document defects, enhancement requests, and rule changes; validate fixes with IT prior to production release.
Provide technical and content support, including training materials, documentation, and direct customer or internal user assistance.
What We're Looking For
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Computer Science, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Demonstrable experience writing basic JavaScript or similar programming language for rule-based logic or data validation.
Strong foundation in computer programming fundamentals, troubleshooting, and logical problem solving.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis, and macro creation.
Ability to translate technical and business requirements into structured system data and rules.
Familiarity with product data maintenance, pricing data, and ERP-integrated systems.
Preferred
Experience working with CPQ, configuration, or product selection tools.
Exposure to HVAC, manufacturing, or technical product environments.
Experience supporting customer-facing or internal software applications.
Work Environment
The work environment is primarily in a professional office setting with standard office equipment and a climate-controlled atmosphere designed for productivity.
