Description
The Educational Technology Application Specialist provides technical expertise, user support, and operational support for educational technology platforms critical to teaching, learning, and assessment in the medical school environment. This role ensures reliable functionality, smooth integration, and effective adoption of systems focusing on curriculum delivery and the learning management environment.
The Specialist partners with Educational Affairs, Medical Education, faculty and leadership teams to maximize the effective use of these educational applications, troubleshoot issues, analyze data, and support ongoing innovation in curriculum delivery and assessment.

Duties & Responsibilities
A pplication Support & Administration
Serve as a technical administrator for:
VidaNova VLE
(curriculum delivery and learning management)
Elentra
(learning management, curriculum tagging, scheduling, assessment, and evaluation)
Serve as a technical subject matter expert and support resource for:
AMP
(student management platform)
Echo360/Turning Technologies
(polling and quizzes)
ExamSoft
(secure electronic exam delivery and reporting)
One45
(clinical scheduling)
REDCap
(assessment and evaluation tool)
Provide tier-1 and tier-2 support for faculty, staff, and student users, resolving application-related issues in a timely manner.
Coordinate with vendors, the Information Technology team, the Educational Affairs team, and other internal stakeholders to escalate and resolve complex technical issues.
Maintain system configurations, user accounts, permissions, and integrations across platforms.
Data, Reporting, & Quality Assurance
Analyze data from educational systems to identify trends and support data-informed decision making.
Act as liaison in support of the design, maintenance, and interpretation of educational dashboards and reports for diverse stakeholders.
Collaborates with institutional teams in their design and support of custom reports and dashboards to meet accreditation, program evaluation, and continuous improvement needs.
Monitor system performance and proactively address potential issues.
Validate data from yearly curriculum builds for accuracy in dashboard feeds
Support quality improvement initiatives by gathering user feedback and recommending enhancements.
System Maintenance, Analytics & Integration
Manage updates, system patches, and new releases of supported platforms, including testing and communication of changes.
Support system integrations with student information systems, evaluation, and reporting tools.
Support the data team with analytics and reports that provide insights into curriculum delivery, assessment outcomes, and student performance.
Ensure compliance with institutional policies, data privacy, and accreditation requirements in all supported systems.
General
Position may require occasional evening or weekend support during peak academic periods.
Acquires knowledge for new technology and policy/procedure revisions.
Hybrid/onsite work arrangements may be available depending on institutional needs.
All other duties as assigned.
Requirements

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Educational Technology, Data Analytics, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
Minimum of three years' experience supporting educational technology platforms, preferably in higher education or health sciences/medical education.
Hands-on experience with one or more educational technology platforms.
Experience with data analytics, dashboards, and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Pentaho, system-native reporting modules) strongly preferred.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Meticulous attention to detail to ensure data integrity.
Support the design, maintenance, and interpretation of educational dashboards and reports for diverse stakeholders.
Familiarity with instructional design principles and technology-enhanced learning.
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
Ability to accept and apply feedback.
Regular and predictable attendance is expected.
Able to perform duties independently, with a minimal need for direct supervision.
Demonstrates the ability to recognize priorities in organization of workflow.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with faculty, staff, students, and vendors.
