Job Summary:
The Front Desk Receptionist at Soma Medical Center serves as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service and administrative support. This role requires strong bilingual communication skills in English and Spanish to ensure a welcoming, efficient, and patient-centered experience while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality in all interactions.

Key Responsibilities:

Greet and check in patients in a friendly, professional, and bilingual (English/Spanish) manner.
Answer and manage incoming phone calls, schedule appointments, and respond to patient inquiries.
Verify patient demographics, insurance information, and eligibility accurately.
Maintain and update patient records in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
Collect copayments, balances, and process payments in accordance with office procedures.
Coordinate patient flow by communicating effectively with medical assistants and providers.
Handle appointment scheduling, confirmations, cancellations, and follow-ups.
Ensure patient confidentiality by adhering to HIPAA guidelines and safeguarding sensitive information.
Manage front desk operations, including filing, scanning, faxing, and general administrative tasks.
Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception area.
Assist with insurance verification and referrals as needed.
Address patient concerns professionally and escalate issues when appropriate.
Support the overall operations and reputation of Soma Medical Center through excellent customer service.
Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish required.
Previous experience in a medical office or customer service role preferred.
Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance processes, and EMR systems is a plus.
Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
Ability to handle a fast-paced environment with professionalism and attention to detail.
Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and scheduling systems.
Work Environment:

Medical office front desk setting with frequent patient interaction.
Requires prolonged sitting, standing, and use of computers and phones.
