
Golf Irrigation Field Service Technician

The Golf Irrigation Field Service Technician provides technical support services for golf course irrigation systems in the South Louisiana and South Texas area.
The ideal candidate should have experience with pump station operation, controls, components, irrigation controls, valve-in-head sprinklers, electric valves, and basic electrical wiring. This position requires excellent troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve the problem the first time. Good communication skills are a must to achieve excellent customer satisfaction with the services performed.
The Field Service Technician will work with the sales staff to provide support and installation of communication and central control equipment on new projects, as well as technical support for existing customers. The Field Service Technician shall work with the VP of Sales and Branch Operations to create a list of service options and preventative maintenance services to offer to customers.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Provide excellent service to all golf course customers
Perform Grounding Test for new installations
Create a Service Opportunity List and maintain it
Provide product training where needed
Set up Central Controls on New Installs
Install Replacement Controllers
Complete a weekly itinerary every Friday and send it to the VP of Sales & Branch Operations
Attend superintendent meetings and events
Plan service calls in advance (when possible) for a specific area, and be efficient with travel
Look for new opportunities to provide revenue for the service side of the golf irrigation division of Keeling Company
A valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle record is required
Candidate must be able to meet the physical requirements, including lifting, bending, stooping, climbing, and moving equipment up to 75 lbs
Some overnight travel will be required

Education/Certifications/Skills/Abilities:
Experience in the operation and maintenance of irrigation systems
Experience in troubleshooting electrical components and wiring of irrigation systems
Experience in pump station diagnostics and repair, including electrical components
Knowledge of PLC's and VFD's a plus
Strong safety practices and awareness of safety regulations
Basic computer skills to include Windows Suite and related software
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
