General Statement of Duties:
The Computer Technician Level 2 is responsible for working with and training Tech 1's in hardware deployment and maintenance. The district Tech 2 is also responsible for District software administration.
Supervision Received:

Works under the direct supervision of the Director of Technology
Supervision Exercised:

No supervisory responsibilities
Job Goal:

To work as a part of the New Milford Technology Team providing daily support for the IT team and staff.
Evaluation:

Performance will be evaluated annually by the Director of Technology
Qualifications:
- Associates or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
- CompTIA A+, Google certificate, or Microsoft certification is beneficial.
- Valid Connecticut Driver's license is also required
- Two years or more experience in the field as a tech support or computer technician. Experience in an educational environment is preferred
- The capacity to work independently with minimal supervision while also being a collaborative team player who can coordinate with staff
- A demonstrated background of using and managing Active Directory
- A demonstrated background of use and understanding of the Google Admin Console
- A demonstrated background of use and understanding of hardware deployment
- A demonstrated ability or demonstrated background of using imaging software.
- An ability to train and/or assist Tech 1 with hardware and/or software implementation
- An ability to diagnose complex, non routine issues and identify the root cause of a problem and to apply fix to issue.

- Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills to explain technical concepts to non-technical individuals with patience and clarity.

Performance Responsibilities
- Assist and support Tech 1's in New Milford Schools, travel to schools as needed.
- Oversee and manage Active Directory by creating, managing, and removing user accounts.
- Oversee and manage Google Admin Console (GAC).
- Oversee, train and manage hardware deployment with Tech 1's
- Oversee and manage other software deployments for New Milford Public Schools.
- Troubleshoot and solve hardware and software issues that need assistance from Tech 1's.
- All other duties assigned by the Director of Technology.

- Ability to move or carry objects weighing over 50 pounds;
- Must have a high level of initiative, independence, and interpersonal and strong teamwork skills.
- Ability to move and/or service computers.
