BMW M Team WRT – GTP Programme
The Opportunity
EVEREC is supporting BMW M Team WRT on the search for an experienced Strategy Engineer to support their IMSA GTP Programme.
This is a high-level motorsport strategy position where you will take ownership of pre-event planning, live race strategy, post-event analysis, tyre and energy modelling, and race-day decision making across a top-level endurance racing programme.
The team are not looking for a junior profile - they need someone who has already been in the room, made calls under pressure, and understands how to operate in a high-performance endurance racing environment.
This role can be based anywhere, as it is fully remote, but will require travel across Europe and the US for race events and programme activity.
The Role
You will act as the lead on strategy-related preparation, planning and live race execution across the IMSA programme.
Key Responsibilities
Pre-Event
Review previous race/event history and performance trends
Build and refine tyre models
Analyse BoP and race sensitivity
Prepare event-specific strategic scenarios and numbers
Develop optimised tyre and energy strategies
Review and factor in weather modelling
Event / Lead-Up
Lead on information gathering ahead of sessions
Support practice / qualifying plans
Prepare and contribute to briefings and documentation
Practice / Qualifying
Conduct tyre analysis and ongoing modelling
Assess compound usage and strategic impact
Lead on pre-race briefing preparation
Race
Define preferred race strategy and contingency options
Assess risks and opportunities in real time
Work closely with Race Engineers
Make quick, informed decisions under pressure during live race conditions
Post-Event
Complete detailed numerical analysis
Produce clear reports and presentations
Feed learning back into future race/event strategy
What They’re Looking For
Essential
Proven experience as a Strategy Engineer within IMSA, WEC, GT3 or GTE
Strong endurance racing strategy background across sprint and endurance formats
Real trackside race-day strategy experience
Ability to make live calls under pressure
Strong understanding of tyre strategy, race modelling, fuel/energy windows and race execution
Stable career history - ideally not someone who has moved teams frequently
Strong communication skills and ability to work closely with engineering and performance groups
Highly organised with a proactive, problem-solving mindset
Preferred
GTP / LMDh experience
Experience with HH Timing and HH DM
Familiarity with motorsport data systems such as:
Pi Toolbox

Travel required across:

Europe
Motorsport calendar / race support-based workload
Flexibility required around race weekends and event delivery
Salary / Package
No fixed budget – salary / rate is open depending on level and relevance
