About the Position
We are currently seeking a Local CDL A Truck Driver in Plainfield, Indiana. This position offers the potential for yearly earnings between $72,000 and $85,000. The driver will be responsible for transporting touch freight, specifically mattresses, with routes varying each day.
Pay & Schedule
Pay Rate: $0.57 per mile
Dispatch Days: Monday through Friday
Start Times: Average range from 3 AM to 8 AM
Job Details
Route Type: Local delivery, non-static routes
Freight Type: Mattresses
Equipment: Operate 2016 or newer single axle day cabs and sleeper cabs
Handling: Driver assists customer with offloading
Route Distance: Generally 280-450 miles per route/day with 1-5 stops
Key Responsibilities
Assist with offloading mattresses - bring them to tail of the trailer
Utilize provided equipment such as 4-wheel carts and dollies for moving mattresses
Complete routes in one day; delays may result in layovers
Report any delays, breakdowns, or weather-related issues to dispatch
Maintain a clean motor vehicle record
Minimum Requirements
1+ years of recent, relevant, and verifiable CDL driving experience
Valid CDL
Clean Motor Vehicle Record (no major traffic violations or preventable accidents in the last 3 years)
Must meet all DOT and FMCSA requirements
