Staff Software Engineer - AI Systems (Financial Platforms)

Scottsdale, Arizona
Schedule:
In-office Monday through Friday, with approximately one work-from-home day per month
Compensation:
$150,000 - $170,000 base salary plus bonus potential

About the Opportunity
MOGEL RPO is partnering with
our client , a leading financial analytics and technology organization, to hire a
Staff Software Engineer
to build next-generation AI-powered workflows in a high-impact, client-facing environment.
This is a hands-on, senior IC role focused on applying LLMs and agentic AI to real-world business processes. You'll work closely with domain experts to transform complex workflows into AI-driven systems with Human-in-the-Loop (HITL) controls-enhancing efficiency while preserving critical human judgment.
Key Responsibilities
Partner with business/domain experts to analyze and redesign complex workflows
Build agentic AI systems with clear human review and approval steps
Develop RAG pipelines and vector-based retrieval systems
Design and deploy backend services (Python / APIs) on AWS
Work with Lambda, APIs, and databases (Postgres, DynamoDB, etc.)
Containerize and deploy services using Docker
Build simple React interfaces for human review and approvals
Monitor AI systems, improve performance, and iterate in production
Focus on real adoption and measurable impact, not just delivery
What We're Looking For
8-12 years of software engineering experience
Strong backend development skills (Python, Java, or similar)
Experience working with
non-technical stakeholders or domain experts
Exposure to
LLMs / AI systems in production
(RAG, prompt engineering, etc.)
Experience with
AWS (Lambda, API Gateway, S3, IAM)
Familiarity with
workflow automation tools (N8N, UiPath, etc.)
is a plus
Basic knowledge of
React
for building internal tools
Comfortable working in
ambiguous, evolving problem spaces
Nice to Have
Experience in
financial services, consulting, or complex workflows
Exposure to
vector databases / embeddings / AI pipelines
Experience building
human-in-the-loop systems
