
Weekend On-Call Assistant

POSITION PURPOSE:
The Weekend On-Call Assistant is responsible for responding to time-sensitive phone calls, system messages, and e-mails, and performing emergency scheduling for caregiver call-outs. The Scheduler furthermore provides a report of weekend activity. The Weekend On-Call Assistant reports to the Director of Operations.
CLASSIFICATION:
Nonexempt, On-Call Stipend
HOURS OF WORK:
This position is on-call from Saturday 9:00 AM to Monday 9:00 AM.
LOCATION:
Remote. Training will be conducted in the Puyallup headquarters, and occasional visits to the Puyallup headquarters will be required thereafter.
PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONS:
Respond to phone calls that should only be time-sensitive. Politely but firmly instruct callers with non-urgent business to send e-mails or system messages or call back during office hours.
Respond to time-sensitive voicemails, system messages, and e-mails immediately.
Assist as needed with clocking in and clocking out caregivers.
For Caregiver call-outs, thoroughly attempt to find and schedule replacement Caregivers within established guidelines. Enter required notation and memos for such shifts. Communicate with affected Clients as needed.
Escalate challenges, disputes, and emergencies as needed.
Complete required reporting of weekend activity.
Maintain professionalism in all interactions with employees, Clients, and other external parties.
Maintain absolute confidentiality of all information pertaining to employees, Clients, Clients' families, and business operations.
QUALIFICATIONS
:
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, scheduling systems, and other healthcare industry-related software is desirable.
Ability to listen and communicate clearly, fluently, diplomatically, and proactively, both orally and in writing.
Ability to remain flexible, resilient, calm, and maintain a sense of humor in all situations.
PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS
:
The employee must remain connected to reliable internet for the duration of the weekend.
The employee must be able to work punctually and effectively in a remote setting of their choice with variable work volume.
