Overview

A global professional services firm is seeking a

Legal Project Manager

to support legal teams across the full lifecycle of matter management. This role focuses on driving efficiency, financial performance, and strategic execution through effective scoping, planning, budgeting, and monitoring of legal matters.

The position partners closely with attorneys and cross-functional teams to implement best practices, improve processes, and deliver data-driven insights that enhance client service and operational performance.

Responsibilities

Partner with attorneys and legal teams to manage matters, including scoping, budgeting, staffing, and workflow coordination

Develop and maintain matter budgets using historical data and analytical tools

Monitor financial performance and track progress against budgets and key performance indicators
Analyze matter data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improved efficiency and cost management
Prepare and deliver reporting on matter status, financials, and performance metrics
Collaborate with stakeholders to address budget variances and adjust project plans as needed
Maintain accuracy and integrity of data within matter management systems
Develop and implement standardized tools, templates, and processes to support project management best practices
Partner with finance, pricing, billing, and other internal teams to support matter execution
Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including process optimization and automation
Support training and adoption of project management principles across legal teams
Stay informed on industry trends and emerging practices
Assist with additional projects and responsibilities as assigned
Requirements

Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred

Significant experience in legal project management, pricing, or a related function within a professional services environment

Strong analytical and financial management skills, including experience with budgeting and performance metrics

Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex information clearly
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Proven ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels
Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset
High level of professionalism and discretion
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
Experience with data visualization tools or financial systems preferred
Familiarity with databases or technical tools is a plus
Project management or process improvement certifications preferred
