Senior Java Developer
to support external-facing permit and authorization systems built in a JBoss JEE environment. This role works in a rapid prototype-to-development cycle, turning user requirements into SQL-driven screen prototypes and then into full Java applications using PrimeFaces, JSF, EJB, Hibernate, and Oracle. Candidates must have 8+ years of experience with legacy system modernizations and at least 3 years of Oracle SQL/PLSQL experience to be considered.
Target Pay Rate to you (C2C): $60 p/h C2C
Expected Duration: 25 months / 4000 hours (9/1/26 - 8/31/28)

Hybrid-Candidates must be local to the Austin area
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Develop SQL-driven prototypes and transform approved designs into Java-based web applications using JBoss JEE, PrimeFaces, JSF, EJB, and Hibernate.
Produce technical specifications, test requirements, flowcharts, and documentation while supporting iterative prototype reviews and user feedback cycles.
Build and test accessible external-facing applications that integrate with Oracle databases, web services, and other agency systems.
Minimum Candidate Characteristics:
8+ years of Java development experience using Java 1.6-1.8 or higher, Spring, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JSF, and design patterns.
8+ years of experience supporting migration or redevelopment of legacy systems, including technical documentation and iterative development.
Strong experience with unit, module, and integration testing, plus Oracle SQL/PLSQL for data-driven enterprise applications.
Exceptional Candidate Characteristics:
Experience with one or more Texas State Agencies.
Experience with accessibility development and troubleshooting for users relying on assistive technologies such as JAWS and NVDA.
Experience with Spring Authentication, application architecture, and technical leadership across Java application teams.
