Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced
Design Release Engineer (DRE)
to support the development and release of
thermal components and systems
for automotive applications. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience releasing production parts, collaborating with suppliers, and working within OEM product development processes. Experience with
AC systems, EV thermal systems, and VW-specific tools
is a strong plus.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the
design, development, and release
of thermal components and systems in accordance with OEM standards.
Own part release activities including
drawing release, BOM creation, and change management .
Collaborate closely with
suppliers
to manage design feasibility, cost, quality, and timing.
Support prototype builds, validation testing, and launch activities.
Work cross-functionally with manufacturing, quality, purchasing, and systems engineering teams.
Ensure compliance with
vehicle performance, durability, regulatory, and OBD requirements .
Resolve design, quality, and supplier-related issues during development and production.
Support
EV thermal systems development , including high-voltage safety considerations (as applicable).
Required Qualifications
7-10 years of experience
as a Design Release Engineer within an
OEM or Tier-1 automotive environment .
Proven experience
releasing production automotive parts .
Strong background in
thermal components or systems .
Hands-on experience working with
suppliers .
Proficiency with:
Teamcenter (PLM)
CATIA
Solid understanding of automotive product development and release processes.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Nice to Have / Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with
KVS .
Experience with
Automotive AC systems .
Knowledge of
plumbing systems, valves, and fluid routing .
Experience with
OBD requirements .
EV experience , especially thermal management systems for electric or hybrid vehicles.
