Position: Lawn Care & Maintenance

Reports To: Housing Rehabilitation Project Manager
Category: Part-Time, Hourly, Temporary
Wage: $20 per hour
Description
The Lawn Mower position is responsible for the regular lawn mowing and weed whacking of the properties TPC Habitat owns within the Housing Renovation portfolio. It will involve weekly mowing and trimming of yard spaces of multiple (typically 10-30) properties located around the Spanaway/Puyallup area. The position will involve driving between multiple properties per day, loading and unloading lawn care equipment, filling equipment with gas and other general equipment regular maintenance as needed. This is a part time, hourly position that is temporary. Expected start date is May 4, 2026 and end date is expected to be August 28, 2026 with the possibility of extension. Estimated work per week is 24 hours, but can and will vary depending on need.
Primary Duties and Core Responsibilities
Weekly care of all lawn spaces on all properties TPC HFH owns in the Housing Renovation Portfolio.
Includes using a gas-powered push lawn mower and a gas-powered line trimmer for edging and weed whacking.
Create a schedule for weekly care that is efficient in drive time. Homes will be added and removed periodically over time to the portfolio.
Basic regular maintenance and care of equipment (mower and line trimmer)
Logging time and submitting paperwork to TPC HFH staff as needed.
Qualifications
18 years or older
Working knowledge of safe and proper operation of gas-powered lawn mowers and line trimmers
Basic experience with the maintenance and care of gas-powered lawn equipment
Willing to use personal vehicle (pick up truck or towed trailer) as transport of yourself and equipment (milage will be reimbursed by TPC HFH).
Valid Driver's License and insurance
Physical Demands and Work Environment
All work will be outside in the natural environment
Ability to stand, walk, and push a gas-powered lawn mower for multiple hours at a time.
Ability to safely handle a gas-powered line trimmer for extended periods of time.
Ability to drive a vehicle and/or pull a small equipment trailer.
Ability to load and unload lawn equipment into a truck/trailer.
Ability to fill, lift, and pour gasoline from a portable can.
