
Poultry Scientist

JOB DUTIES:
1. Daily collection of mortality while reviewing causes of death and applying strategies to reduce daily mortality
2. Ensure feed and waterline heights are adequate for the size and age of the bird
3. Administer medications and supplements on a scheduled basis
4. Perform necropsy and strategize methods to improve animal health
5. Monitor feed and water consumption
6. Ensure proper lighting is applied to birds during stages of life
7. Cleans poultry houses, feeders, and water systems
8. Daily equipment inspections and general preventative maintenance tasks
9. General care of the facility

While performing the duties of this job, the employee has constant exposure to dust, animal dander, and odor. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Employees stand and walk on concrete for most of their shifts. Seasonally, the employee is exposed to a variety of extreme weather conditions,
