Plant Engineer

What you will do

Uphold a genuine regard for safety, ensuring employees understand and follow safety guidelines and recognizing individuals for safety suggestions.

Uphold the highest ethical standards, serving as a role model to other plant leaders and team members. Acting on unsafe or unsanitary conditions. Shutting down unsafe equipment and correct upset conditions promptly.

Capital Project Management

Serve as Project Manager for major capital projects from start to finish

Provide engineering support on projects assigned to Operational Leaders

Manage contractor activities, setting clear expectations to ensure timely and quality completion of projects while enforcing all plant policies and procedures with contractors included in scope of managed projects.

Engineering Design Review

Develop and maintain supportive relationships with business unit teams, corporate engineers, and management

Support troubleshooting of mechanical systems

Research automation technologies and help design efficient manufacturing workflows

Lead project meetings, setting schedules and agendas, and engaging participants to actively contribute

Distribute project status update reports to keep stakeholders informed of progress, challenges, and key changes

Conduct Management of Change and safety design reviews on all proposed projects, installed equipment, relocated equipment, and building modifications.

Champion company stewardship by assessing and prioritizing project options with an acceptable ROI

Plant Maintenance Support

Collaborate with the Maintenance teams

Assess equipment for obsolescence risks or potentially inefficient mechanical design

Assist in the training of Maintenance apprentices and guide team on engineering concepts

Education / professional background

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or other related field preferred.

2-4 years of related experience is preferred

Overcome obstacles and setbacks and react with positivity and optimism in the face of unforeseen challenges

Education Required

Bachelors or better in Engineering or related field
