Our Murrieta, CA office is looking for a highly educated and capable person to join our finance team as a full- or part-time Experienced Construction Office Accountant. The Experienced Construction Office Accountant We're Looking For
Can you meet these qualifications?
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
3+ years of accounting experience
Construction accounting experience (preferably in residential remodeling)
Hands-on experience with job costing, budget reporting, accounts payable, and accounts receivable
Experience with work-in-progress (WIP) reporting and cost forecasting
Experience in preparing monthly financial statements and management reports
Experience using construction management software (preferably Buildertrend)
Extensive knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting
Strong understanding of construction financial controls and cash flow management
Knowledge of and ability to follow generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
Familiarity with contract billing, progress billing, and retention

Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications or similar software
Excellent organizational skills and close attention to detail
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to analyze job profitability and margin performance
Ability to create and maintain budgets, projections, and variance reports
Ability to identify financial risks and provide strategic recommendations to management
Ability to work independently and proactively

Complete accurate, timely, and efficient accounting functions, including general ledger management, accounts payable/receivable coordination, account reconciliations, and more
Prepare accurate monthly balance sheets, income statements, profit and loss reports, and other financial documentation
Oversee collections processes
Assist with audits, filing tax forms, software system enhancements, and additional responsibilities as assigned
