Administrative Assistant
Assists the administrator in the organization and maintaining of operational routines and a positive efficient working environment. Has primary responsibility for essential record keeping and generating reports.
Maintains a schedule of appointments and makes arrangements for conferences and interviews.
Organizes, schedules and supervises site or department office routines and functions.
Performs confidential and regular bookkeeping and/or record keeping tasks associated with the specific site or department.
Gathers, organizes, stores and retrieves pertinent data as needed.
Maintains confidential, regular, and computerized filing systems.
Processes incoming and outgoing correspondence as instructed and appropriate.
Places and receives telephone calls routes, and/or records messages.
Acts as liaison between administrator and staff, students, patrons or the public.
Operates business machines, computers and related office equipment.
Maintains supplies and places orders as needed.
Keeps up-to-date site or department policies and procedures.
Keeps as well informed as possible about the school district's objectives, policies, plans and how the site or department implements and/or supports them.
Performs such other duties as directed or required.
Interest in the education of youth in a public-school setting.
Proficiency in typing, computer operation and modern office practices.
Takes and transcribes dictation of various types, including correspondence, reports and notices.
Demonstrate effective English communication in both oral and written form.
Demonstrate pleasant, patient, outgoing, collegial interpersonal relationship skills.
Demonstrate initiative, organizational and time management skills.
High School Diploma.
Two years job experience as a secretary or graduation from a recognized secretarial school.
