Job Title
Perform secretarial support necessary to accomplish objectives established by the Building Principal. Adapts to the variety of responsibilities. Presents a positive image in contacts with parents, community and staff. Properly handle confidential matters relating to students, student records, parents, staff and any other school related issues.
Reports to: Building Principal
Pay: Non-Exempt According to Clerical Scale

Qualifications: High School Diploma Written substantiation of experience Office skills required in job
Essential Functions:
Functional daily attendance
Perform telephone and personal reception duties for all building staff, route calls and visitors.
Responds to inquiries from a variety of internal and external parties (e.g. staff, parents, students, public agencies, etc.) for the purpose of providing information, facilitating communication among departments and/or providing directions as may be required.
Monitor students referred for illness, discipline, etc. for the purpose of ensuring their safety and welfare.
Operates all standard office equipment.
Receive and respond to requests for information verbally or in writing.
Obtain and provide responses for situations where information is available and established procedures permit dissemination.
Analyze unusual situations and refer to the appropriate position for resolution. Often assist in developing these responses.
Presentation of a professional image for the authority is important in these relationships.
Compose school-to-home communications, such as back-to-school packets, newsletters, fliers and reminders, which may include the scheduling and execution of compiling, typing, editing, paste-up, printing and distribution.
Perform health-related duties in the absence of the Health Office staff; administer first aid to students and staff; dispense medication according to prescription instructions; enter necessary information in the medical log; notify parents of ill or injured students; prepare exposure notices and accident reports as needed.
Assists with registration, student arrivals and dismissals, student attendance
Operates all standard office equipment.
Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, hearing and speaking exchange information, bending at the waist, kneeling or crouching to file materials, sitting for extended periods of time, lifting and transporting boxes weighing up to fifty pounds, busy office environment with frequent interruptions.
