Google's software engineers develop next‑generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information and one another. We look for engineers who bring fresh ideas from information retrieval, distributed computing, large‑scale system design, networking, data storage, security, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, UI design, and mobile. As a software engineer you will work on a specific project critical to Google’s needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as our fast‑paced business grows. We need engineers who are versatile, demonstrate leadership, and are enthusiastic to tackle new problems across the full stack.

Agent Assist is a core pillar of Gemini Enterprise for Customer Experience (GECX). It uses Google’s leading Generative AI technologies to support call center agents at every stage of their workflow, reducing average handling time and delivering better customer service. We are building the next generation of this companion AI Agent, leveraging Agentic AI technologies to empower human agents with real‑time guidance, task automation, and rich collaborative interactions.

The Cloud Applied AI (AAI) powers business growth with Gemini Enterprise. Our portfolio includes Gemini Enterprise for Customer Experience, Vertex AI Search – Commerce, Customer Experience Insights, and other vertical solutions. We enable high adoption and speed to value by building solutions that are quickly deployed, delivering new 0‑to‑1 capabilities with startup agility. Team members operate at the forefront of AI, collaborating directly with model builders with unprecedented speed.

Responsibilities

Lead the development and launch of a companion agent, a context‑aware AI Agent to empower call center agents.

Be responsible for sustaining and accelerating the adoption of Agent Assist, the fastest growing GECX product.

Build scalable foundational infrastructure and advanced GenAI features.

Drive collaboration with partner teams in AAI, Vertex AI, and DeepMind.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

8 years of experience in software development.

5 years of experience testing and launching software products, and 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.

5 years of experience with one or more of the following: speech/audio, reinforcement learning, or another ML field.

5 years of experience with ML design and ML infrastructure (model deployment, evaluation, data processing, debugging, fine‑tuning).

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in GenAI and Agentic AI solution development.

Experience in cloud platform development.

Track record of delivering a high volume of scalable, production‑grade features.

Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills.
