Position Overview

Certified Welding Inspector

We're seeking AWS Certified Welding Inspectors (CWIs) to support our growing pipeline of infrastructure and structural projects. In this role, you'll perform inspections across NY/NJ job sites and contribute to the ongoing development of welding quality assurance processes at AEIS.
What You'll Do

Quality Assurance & Inspection
Perform visual and destructive weld inspections to ensure compliance with AWS D1.1/D1.5, ASME, and DOT standards.
Monitor welding operations and ensure procedures and personnel are qualified.
Identify and document weld defects and non-conformities.
Conduct MT and UT inspections where certified.
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain accurate inspection records and generate professional reports using our proprietary software, designed to report welding and NDT inspections.
Verify and review WPSs, PQRs, and Welder Certifications.
Contribute to quality documentation systems.
Collaboration & Process Improvement
Work closely with project managers, welding engineers, and NDT staff.
Participate in process optimization reviews and corrective action reports.
What We're Looking For

Must Haves
AWS CWI Certification (Active)
110 years of hands-on structural welding inspection experience
Strong communication skills in English (spoken & written)
Basic math and technical documentation skills
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and construction plans
Willingness to travel to project sites throughout NY and NJ
Bonus Points
MT and UT certifications (Level I/II)
Experience with bolting inspections
Familiarity with ASME standards
Experience working on DOT or public infrastructure projects

Salary Range: $45 - $55 per hour
This range is based on national market data and may vary widely by experience and location.
