Union Certified Welder 2nd Shift

Job Title

Responsible for permanently joining metal parts using high heat application to form a permanent bond. May specialize in one of hundreds of different processes of welding to join metals together. Will use automatic or semi-automatic machines and related equipment in a continuous production/processing operation. Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

Hand welds various fittings to different sizes of pipes and welding joints.
Interprets application job sheets and various sizes of welding fittings.
Analyzes all welds to ensure they are free of porosity and discontinuities.
Ensures all welds are visibly stamped or identified with markings to designate that welds were performed by a certified welder.
Reviews the order ticket and determines whether the work to be performed meets the customer's specifications.
Verifies the final product meets quality control standards.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications

Certified pressure pipe welder
Experience in full pen welds and pipe fitting welds
Ability to qualify and maintain all shop weld procedures
Familiarity with API 1104 or ASME Section IX.
Career Level Dimensions

Typical Training/Experience
HS Diploma or GED, strongly preferred.
0-2 years of experience in area of responsibility.

Selects correct processes from clearly prescribed rules, past practices, or instruction.
Seeks advice and guidance on non-routine or problem areas from supervisor.
Deviations from the norm are cleared by the supervisor.
Autonomy

Under close supervision, exercises limited latitude/independent judgment.
Work typically involves detailed checks or close review of output by a senior coworker and/or supervisor.
Environmental Job Requirements

Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs in a physical environment.

Pay: $20.20 - $28.85 per hour.
