The Accounting unit is responsible for accounts payable, financial reporting and maintaining all financial related controls pertaining to the Fund, in compliance with governing accounting standards. Under the direction of the Director of Accounting, this candidate will be responsible for the maintenance of investment statements, preparation of investment reports, performing analyses and assessing data quality. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Prepare and reconcile monthly/annual financial reports;
Perform all Accounts Payable related duties;
Perform audit procedures to ensure all controls are in place;
Perform difficult arithmetical computations;
Monitor and manage cash balances available for investment; recommend investment of the Funds balances based on cash needs of the Pension Fund;
Present financials reports and various other related projects to management;
Enter journal entries into the accounting software;
Participate in annual audit and follow-up with all audit requests;
Investigate/Resolve any variances related to financial reports;
Assist in the development of policies and procedures to improve unit workflow and efficiency;
Work on special projects and other ad hoc projects as designated by Unit Supervisor and the Chief Fiscal Officer (CFO).
