Warehouse Worker
Shift: 1st & 2nd shift
Pay: $16-$17 an hour
Job Description
The Warehouse Worker plays a key role in the efficient movement of packages within a busy distribution facility. In this role, you load and unload packages from trailers and delivery trucks, sort items to ensure they reach the correct destination, and support the returns group during a K12 ramp-up period in E-Town. You work as part of a diverse, collaborative, and energetic team that thrives in a fast-paced environment on either first or second shift.
Responsibilities
Load and unload packages from trailers and delivery trucks in a safe and efficient manner.
Sort packages accurately to ensure they are routed to the correct destination within the facility.
Support the returns group by handling, organizing, and processing returned items for the K12 ramp-up.
Perform general warehouse labor, including packing, repacking, and rework of products as needed.
Pick and pack orders according to established procedures and production goals.
Handle materials throughout the warehouse, including staging, moving, and organizing inventory.
Assist with shipping and receiving activities, including preparing outgoing shipments and unloading incoming freight.
Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts, if qualified and as needed.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with facility standards.
Follow all safety guidelines and procedures while lifting, moving, and stacking packages.
Essential Skills
Experience working in a warehouse or similar environment.
Ability to perform loading and unloading of packages and materials safely.
Capability to lift, carry, and move packages as part of daily duties.
Experience with order picking, packing, and general production tasks.
Ability to perform shipping and receiving tasks accurately.
Comfort working in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
Willingness to work on first or second shift as scheduled.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Previous experience as a warehouse worker, package handler, or in returns or rework is beneficial.
Experience with inventory handling and order picking processes.
Familiarity with material handling equipment and basic warehouse tools.
Forklift experience or certification is an advantage.
Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team.
Work Environment
This role is based in a warehouse environment in the returns section of a large distribution facility in E-Town. You work around active loading docks, sorting areas, and packing stations, with overhead fans providing airflow. Temperatures can be hot in the summer and cooler in the winter months, so you should be comfortable working in variable conditions and wearing appropriate, practical work attire suitable for a warehouse setting. The position operates on first and second shifts, with steady hours supporting ongoing warehouse operations.
Job Type & Location: This is a Contract position based out of Elizabethtown, KY.
Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $17.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
