As an Operator, you'll join a collaborative team ensuring that our clients can deliver their services
uninterrupted. Based in Southbridge, MA, you'll perform a variety of tasks in the operation and maintenance of a water treatment plant. You'll operate, repair, and maintain the water treatment plant's facilities; perform routine laboratory tests; understand and carry out oral and written directions; establish and maintain cooperative relationships with those contacted during the course of work.
Specific responsibilities include:
Operates treatment facilities to control flow and processing of water/wastewater, sludge, and effluent
Monitors gauges, meters, and control panels
Observes variations in operating conditions and interprets meter and gauge readings
Operates valves and gates either manually or by remote control
Starts and stops pump, engines, and generators to control and adjust flow and treatment processes
Maintains shift log and records meter and gauge readings
Takes samples and performs routine laboratory tests and analyses
Performs routine maintenance functions and custodial duties
Makes operating decisions in absence of supervisory personnel
Does related work as required
Here's what you'll need:
High School Diploma or GED
Experience operating a wastewater treatment facility
Experience with sound safety principles and practices
Experience with computer operations with the ability to prepare spreadsheets and word processing documents, and enter information into maintenance management system
Possess a valid driver's license
Ideally, you'll also have:
Knowledge of the principles, methods, and tools employed in the general operation of engines, pumps, valves, motors, and related equipment; general maintenance work; safe work practices; principles and methods of biological and chemical sewage analyses, effects and problems of industrial waste in water/wastewater treatment processes, principles of supervision
Knowledge of computer software including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite, data management systems and be able to operate plant PLC's and SCADA systems

Posted salary range: Minimum $44,300.00 to Upper $63,360.00. The base salary range for this position is $44,300.00 to $63,360.00; though will be paid hourly based on hours worked. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
