Help
Under general supervision of the foreman, operate three high pressure, oil-fired steam boilers with an active plant capacity of 580,000 lbs/hour.
Maintain correct temperatures on fuel oil and feed water by making necessary adjustments to feed water regulators.
Conduct a complete physical check of Boiler Plant equipment at least once each hour of the shift, remaining constantly alert to detect malfunctioning and take necessary action to prevent breakdown of equipment.
Operate electric and steam turbine pumps, steam turbine forced draft fans, electric and steam driven fuel pumps and various electric condensate pumps.
Perform routine maintenance and repairs, such as replacing gaskets, packing and tightening up on pipe fittings and turbining boiler tubes.
Read all meters and records data hourly in daily operating log as to oil consumption of each boiler, steam produced, boiler make-up used, flue gas temperatures.
