Medical Assistant - Head and Neck Surgery
Under general supervision, performs a variety of work duties which requires specific knowledge and training in patient care duties within business and professions code of the State of California and/or the regulations The Joint Commission (TJC).
These duties also include but are not limited to: environmental care functions, equipment/supply management and cleaning/disinfecting the environment. Incumbents may also provide front office services on a routine or back-up basis. The Medical Assistant performs additional clinical responsibilities in specialized health fields and utilizes additional certification and/or training to support procedures, technical functions, or other higher level specialist duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) OR Certificate of completion of a Medical Assistant training program.
BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.
Two (2) years recent experience as a MA in an ambulatory medical practice.
Ambulatory Care or Surgical practice experience.
Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology.
Strong knowledge of insurances.
Preferred Qualifications
Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
Experience scheduling appointments and procedures.
Otorhinolaryngology (ENT) or Specialty Practice experience.
Front and back office experience.
Knowledge of EMR, EPIC, IDX systems.
Special Conditions
Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
