Java Developer (Contract to Hire)

$50 - 65/hour

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
Strong experience developing applications using

Java

and

Spring Boot .
Experience designing and building

RESTful APIs

and backend services.
Hands-on experience with

cloud-native application development

(e.g.,

AWS ).
Experience working with

API gateways

and distributed systems.
Experience with

event-driven architectures

and data platforms such as

Apache Kafka

and

Cassandra

or other

NoSQL databases .
Proficiency in

Java/J2EE

application development, including object-oriented design and common design patterns.
Working knowledge of the full software development lifecycle, including design, development, testing, deployment, maintenance, and optimization.
Experience working in

Agile development environments

using at least one common Agile framework.
Understanding of modern engineering practices including

CI/CD ,

test-driven development ,

cloud development ,

application resiliency , and

security best practices .
Proficiency in one or more

general-purpose programming languages .
Preferred Qualifications

Experience with

CI/CD pipelines

and automated testing methodologies.
Working knowledge of

Python

and/or

Apache Spark .
Experience deploying and operating applications on

Kubernetes .
Familiarity with

observability and monitoring platforms

such as

Splunk ,

Kibana ,

AppDynamics , or

Dynatrace .
Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain scalable, high-quality Java-based applications.
Build and maintain cloud-native, API-driven services with a focus on performance and reliability.
Apply software engineering best practices across the full development lifecycle.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, resilient, and maintainable solutions.
Continuously improve system performance, scalability, and operational efficiency.
