Certified Prosthetist Orthotist (CPO)
Vale Group has partnered with a leading orthotic and prosthetic care provider in the Jacksonville, FL area to identify a Florida-licensed Certified Prosthetist Orthotist (CPO). This is a hands-on clinical role working under the guidance of the Practice Manager/Senior CPO, offering strong clinic-level autonomy and exposure to a diverse patient population including trauma, pediatric, and neurological cases. Requirements:
Active Florida license as a Certified Prosthetist Orthotist (CPO)
ABC Certification required
Any level of experience as a practicing CPO will be considered
Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and patient care practices
Ability to perform physical assessments and apply clinical best practices
Familiarity with medical terminology and aseptic techniques
Ability to perform all duties within the established scope of practice
Key Responsibilities:
Evaluate patients through examination, interview, and measurement to determine orthotic and prosthetic needs
Design, fit, and adjust orthotic and prosthetic devices to ensure optimal function and patient comfort
Educate patients on proper use, care, and maintenance of devices
Collaborate with physicians to develop treatment plans and device specifications
Cast patients and modify molds for fabrication purposes
Select appropriate materials and components based on device design
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
Repair, modify, and rebuild orthotic and prosthetic devices as needed
Fabricate devices or oversee fabrication processes
Participate in a structured on-call rotation, including hospital calls
Mentor and support Orthotic Fitters and junior staff
Address and resolve complex patient concerns and clinical issues
This position will evolve to include participation in an after-hours on-call schedule as part of the organization's long-term operational strategy.
