Gas Processing Plant Operator
Oversee the overall operation of the plant. Control room operating and pinpointing concerns to improve plant functions.
What You Will Be Responsible For:
Operates plant facilities' various equipment/systems including, but not limited to cryogenic plant processing, hydrocarbon fractionation units, process controls and measurement, pumps, pressure relief system instrument air system, dehydrators, fuel system, emergency shutdown systems, gas turbines, reciprocating compressors, steam turbines, gas fired boilers, process pumps, amine treating systems, inlet gas receivers and NGL storage and transfer facilities.
Operate the plant and perform work in the facility in a safe manner at all times.
Perform all work within Process Safety Management (PSM) guidelines.
Optimize processing throughout the facility and maintain proper product specifications.
Take plan process readings and respond to changes necessary.
Gage tanks and check levels and let management know when chemicals need ordered.
Responds to alarms and problems within the plant and makes appropriate corrections.
Spill Prevention Countermeasures and Control (SPCC) reporting and monitoring environmental compliance.
Perform lock out/tag out procedures.
Monitor field compressor status using SCADA and call out people when necessary.
Perform lab testing to verify process parameters.
Operating a forklift as needed.
Qualifications:
High school degree or GED.
3 years previous operations experience in a gas processing facility.
Knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM).
Read and understand operating procedures.
Read and understand Process Flow Diagrams (PFD's).
Read and understand Piping and instrument Drawings (P&ID's).
Willing to work 12 hour rotating shifts and overtime as needed.
Available for callouts.
Able to wear all appropriate PPE.
Able to work in all weather conditions and loud environments.
Ability to assume and perform duties and manage multiple tasks under potentially stressful and/or hazardous conditions.
Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
Work well with others and able to perform work independently.
Demonstrate sound judgment.
Make decisions and corrections when issues are detected.
Have basic computer skills, including spreadsheet and word processing applications.
History of being dependable, punctual, and reliable.
