Dental Receptionist
Salary Range $22.64 - $29.43 Hourly
Position Summary
The Receptionist will answer phones, greet clients, schedule appointments, maintain office appearance, and perform various clerical tasks including filing, copying, and shredding.
Required Qualifications
Required High School diploma OR Dental Assisting Certificate preferred.
One year experience in a dental office OR a combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
Communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing and demonstrate a high level of listening skills.
Fluency in additional languages preferred.
Computer literacy, including Word and Excel and database software experience a plus.
Ability to work a flexible schedule when needed.
Efficient time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and organizational needs.
Strong administrative skills with attention to detail.
Ability to use standard office equipment including phone, fax, copier.
Computer (PC) literate in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power point, Outlook email and database software.
Commitment to HIPAA and ability to abide by standards of professional ethics and maintain confidentiality.
Adherence to infection control procedures, including but not limited to, standard precautions of temperature monitoring, hand washing, symptom self-monitoring, masking and social distancing.
Assist and support the Center/Department/Program to meet standards of High Reliability.
Required to travel when needed.
Essential Responsibilities
Treat all patients, families, visitors, peers, staff and providers in a pleasant and courteous manner.
Answer incoming calls and may respond to approximately 100 patient inquiries daily.
Manage Dentist's and Hygienist's schedules by confirming patient's appointments.
Verifies patients Insurance and eligibility.
Maintain office appearance and confirm tasks are completed by initialing the front office logs.
Schedule appointments; initial and occurring using NextGen.
Responsible for ordering office supplies and restocking inventory.
Organize dental records and copies of dental x-rays for referrals and insurance submission.
Accurately maintain and update all patient records including personal and medical information.
May perform closing duties.
Receive and process fees or credit card payments prior to client appointments.
Travel when necessary to meet operational needs.
Other back office duties as assigned by Dental Center Manager.
