Material Handler II

Location: Longview, TX, US, 75604 Company: REV Group, Inc. Work Hours: Mon-Fri 6a-4:30p, 30 min lunch at 11:30a
Job Summary: Load, unload, and move materials within or near plant, yard, or work site by performing the following duties.
Responsibilities:
Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested or assigned.
Read work order or follow oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved.
Open containers.
Load and unload materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand.
Load materials into vehicles and install strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit.
Convey materials from storage or work sites to designated area.
Count, weigh, and record number of units of materials moved or handled on daily production sheet.
Attach identifying tags or labels to materials or mark information on cases, bales, or other containers.
Stack or assemble materials into bundles and band bundles together as required.
Lift heavy objects by hand or with power hoist, and clean.
Work area, machines, and equipment.
Operate industrial truck or electric hoist to assist in loading or moving materials and products.
Qualifications: High School level education. 1-3 years of experience or job related. Must drive a forklift and hold an operator's license. Read and write English. Lift objects up to forty (40) pounds with help. Hand-eye coordination. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one or small group situations to other employees of the organization. Ability to communicate verbally.
Basic Skill Requirements:
Must be able to read, interpret, understand and have the ability to perform the various operations as listed on Floor Plans, Work Order Books, Quality and Engineering drawings/documents, Operating and Maintenance instructions, and parts and procedure manuals associated with each individual product unit.
Utilizing the appropriate Personal Protection Equipment, must be able to Safely operate all power tools, hand tools and specialty tools required in the assembly process.
Must have the ability to utilize Deductive Reasoning and Critical Thinking using logic and reasoning to identify potential problems, strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions and approaches for continuous product and cost improvement applications.
Description of Work Environment and Working Conditions: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to an indoor/outdoor plant non-climate-controlled area. The noise level is usually moderate. In the plant, eye protection is mandatory, hearing protection and dust mask may be required in identified areas.
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger; handle or feel objects; tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop; kneel; crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
