Responsibilities
The In-House Sr. Scheduler is responsible for driving scheduling excellence across heavy civil construction projects. This individual develops and manages complex schedules using Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project, ensuring alignment with field execution, construction sequencing, and production tracking. The role collaborates closely with project managers and field teams to monitor progress, identify risks, and communicate schedule impacts. Additionally, this position supports scheduling standards, mentors staff, and contributes to continuous improvement in project controls.
Create and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6, incorporating project milestones, activities, resources, and dependencies.
Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other team members to gather project data and input, ensuring accurate and comprehensive schedules.
Continuously monitor project progress and update schedules as needed
Generate regular reports and visual representations of project schedules, progress, and performance metrics for project teams.
Collaborate with Cost Engineers/Estimators to integrate cost data into project schedules
Maintain accurate and organized records of project schedules, revisions, and historical data for future reference and auditing.
Ensure that project schedules adhere to industry standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
Lead company initiatives to improve schedule understanding and usage among Project Managers, Superintendents, and field teams.
Actively manage and track project delays, issues, and Time Impact Analyses (TIAs), ensuring timely documentation and communication with project teams and leadership.
Develop and deliver training sessions on scheduling best practices, earned value analysis, and project controls in partnership with PM teams.
Oversee the workload of all in-house scheduling tasks.
Take the lead in implementing earned value management (EVM) processes and integrating cost? and resource-loaded schedules across the company.
Serve as the internal subject matter expert for both Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project, providing high?level technical guidance, troubleshooting, and training.
Qualifications
The In-House Sr. Scheduler requires the following:
Bachelor's degree in construction management, Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
Experience in scheduling heavy civil construction projects is required.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Familiarity with construction safety regulations and quality standards (preferred).
Expert?level proficiency in both Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
Demonstrated experience in earned value management, cost?loaded schedules, and resource?loaded schedules.
Experience performing and managing TIAs, delay analysis, and project risk assessments.
Prior experience mentoring or supervising scheduling personnel (preferred, not required).
Reports to: Director of Project Controls
Location: Regional Office (Austin, Houston, or Mission)
