Job Overview We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Housekeeping Floor Technician to join our team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and safety across our community's floors, ensuring a comfortable and hygienic environment for residents, staff, and visitors. Your efforts will directly contribute to the well-being and satisfaction of those we serve.
What You'll Do
As a Floor Care Technician, you'll play a key role in maintaining our facility's appearance and safety by performing a wide range of floor care and custodial duties, including:
Perform thorough cleaning of floors, including sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming carpets to maintain high standards of cleanliness.
Conduct floor care procedures such as buffing, stripping, waxing, and polishing to preserve the appearance and durability of various flooring surfaces.
Utilize specialized equipment for carpet cleaning and environmental services to ensure hygienic environments.
Follow established janitorial protocols to clean common areas, hallways, resident rooms, and bathrooms efficiently.
Maintain safety standards by properly handling cleaning chemicals and equipment while adhering to health regulations.
Perform other duties as assigned to support operations
What We're Looking For
Qualifications & Experience
Proven experience in janitorial or custodial roles within commercial or healthcare settings.
Knowledge of floor care techniques including buffing, carpet cleaning, stripping, waxing, and polishing.
Ability to operate cleaning machinery such as buffers, extractors, and vacuum cleaners safely and effectively.
Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining a clean and safe environment.
Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently.
Physical stamina to perform repetitive cleaning tasks throughout the shift.
At least 1 year of floor care/floor tech experience experience in environmental services or healthcare cleaning is preferred but not required. Physical & Work Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs occasionally
Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, pushing, and pulling
Ability to safely operate maintenance and floor care equipment
Work performed primarily indoors; occasional outdoor work in varying weather
Evening, weekend, and on-call shifts may be required
Use of PPE may be required for certain tasks
