About the role
We are seeking a Sr. Software Engineer with 5 to 9 years of experience to join our team in a hybrid work model. The ideal candidate will have expertise in SQL Spring Boot Java and MySQL with a strong background in Medicare and Medicaid Claims. This role involves developing and optimizing software solutions that enhance our healthcare services contributing to the company’s mission of improving patient outcomes. Skills Microservices Docker Messaging (Kafka RabbitMQ) AI User ReactJS.

In this role, you will:
· Develop and maintain high-quality software solutions using SQL Spring Boot Java and MySQL to support healthcare services.

· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement scalable applications that meet business requirements.

· Analyse and optimize existing systems to improve performance and efficiency in processing Medicare and Medicaid Claims.

· Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior developers ensuring adherence to best practices and coding standards.

· Conduct thorough testing and debugging of applications to ensure reliability and functionality.

· Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of development processes.

· Work closely with stakeholders to gather and refine requirements ensuring alignment with business objectives.

· Implement security measures and data protection protocols to safeguard sensitive healthcare information.

· Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to drive innovation within the team.

· Document software designs technical specifications and user guides for future reference.

· Support deployment and integration of software solutions in a hybrid work environment.

· Collaborate with the QA team to ensure comprehensive testing and quality assurance of applications.

· Contribute to the company’s mission by developing solutions that enhance patient care and streamline healthcare processes.

What you need to have to be considered
· Possess a strong proficiency in SQL Spring Boot Java and MySQL essential for developing robust applications.

· Demonstrate extensive experience in handling Medicare and Medicaid Claims crucial for domain‑specific projects.

· Exhibit excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.

These will help you stand out
· Hold a bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.

· 5+ years of relevant experience.

Salary and compensation
The annual salary for this position will be between $65,000 to $114,000 depending on the experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
