Forklift Operator and Material Handler

This role supports a large, highly organized distribution facility that handles life-saving medical device implants used in surgery. You will work in a climate-controlled warehouse, performing a mix of material handling, order picking and packing, inventory support, and general housekeeping tasks. Accuracy and attention to detail are critical, as you help ensure that the correct products reach healthcare providers on time.
Responsibilities

Pick and pack medical device implant orders with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Use RF scan guns to locate, pick, verify, and process orders within the warehouse management system.
Perform cycle counts and inventory audits to maintain accurate stock levels and product locations.
Verify orders against documentation to ensure correct items, quantities, and lot information are shipped.
Operate forklifts and material handling equipment such as reach trucks, order pickers, and sit-down lifts, if experienced and assigned.
Handle general material handling duties including loading, unloading, staging, and moving product throughout the facility.
Support shipping and receiving activities by assisting with order picking, packing, and preparing shipments.
Break down boxes, manage packaging materials, and perform housekeeping tasks to keep work areas clean and organized.
Walk extensively throughout a large facility to retrieve, move, and organize inventory.
Essential Skills

Experience operating reach trucks, order pickers, and sit-down forklifts.
Proven experience working in distribution or warehouse environments.
Material handling experience including loading, unloading, and staging product.
Ability to use RF scan guns for picking, packing, and inventory control.

Work Environment

The role is based in a large, climate-controlled warehouse that is very clean, organized, and focused on teamwork. You will spend much of the day on your feet, walking throughout the facility to pick and move product. The standard shift runs from 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., with a requirement to be open to working Thursday, Friday, and Saturday; you may be asked to start earlier or stay later as needed. Saturday hours are typically around 5:00 a.m. to approximately 12:00 p.m. or 1:00 p.m. The facility uses RF scan guns, WMS, SAP, and various types of forklifts and material handling equipment.
Job Type & Location: This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Southaven, MS.
Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $19.50 - $19.50/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
