Howmet Aerospace is currently looking for two Automation Techs to join our Dover Casting group in Dover, New Jersey.
The work hours for this job are on an off shift. One opening will be on the 2nd shift 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM and one opening will be on the 3rd shift: 10:00 PM - 6:30 AM.
Training will occur on Day Shift (Monday - Friday 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM) for several months.
This position will receive an hourly "shift premium" while assigned to an off-shift.
Anticipated Pay Range:
$28.00 - $31.00 per hour. Pay rates within this range are determined based on various factors including experience, education, certifications, etc.

Programs various brands of robots and related automated equipment. Modifies and maintains existing programs as well as creates new programs. Maintains robotic arms, robot controllers, end-of-arm tools, conveyors, parts orienteers, etc. Uses power tools, hand tools, and testing instruments. Follows manuals, schematic diagrams, and blue prints.
Expected to assist in the implementation of Howmet Aerospace's EHS value and policy statement and its accompanying principles;
Comply with all department, facility, Corporate and Regulatory EH&S regulations.
Wear all required personal protective equipment;
Report all job-related illness and injuries. (Per employee handbook);
Report all Safety, Health & Environmental concerns to your supervisor in a timely manner;
Attend all EH&S training.
Essential Job Functions
Provides manufacturing support of robotic finishing and robotic manufacturing equipment.
Review related manuals, blueprints, and schematic diagrams to determine tasks to be performed. Understanding of Robot Inputs and Outputs. Understand the Binary System
Maintains and improves reliability and productivity of robotic equipment.
Programs and documents code for manufacturing robots.
Acts in leadership role as SPA for robotic equipment and process operations.
Documentation of the automation processes throughout the life cycle of the process.
Participate in any quality audits pertaining to Automation.
Other Skills/Abilities
Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written)
Must be able to work flexible hours including night and weekends with little advanced notice

Basic Qualifications
Understanding of robotic arms, controllers, end of arm tools, electrical circuits, mechanical equipment, pneumatics, hydraulics, and programming of the various controllers and robots
Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
This position entails access to export-controlled items and employment offers are conditioned upon an applicant's ability to lawfully obtain access to such items
Associate Degree and technical training
Preferred Qualifications
Prefer work experience 3-5 years with related job functions.
Prefer Yaskawa/Motorman or Fanuc robot programming training.
Prefer PLC programming and troubleshooting experience.
Prefer panel building and machine wiring experience.
Prefer schematic and blueprint reading experience.
Understanding of robotic arms, controllers, end of arm tools, electrical circuits, mechanical equipment, pneumatics, hydraulics, and programming of the various controllers and robots
