Teacher Assistant Position

This position will provide educational and therapeutic services to students in special education within a small class, self-contained therapeutic day school. We offer excellent benefits including an employee educational assistance benefit.
The ideal candidate will possess:
High school diploma required
Must be at least 21 years of age
Eligible for paraprofessional license or substitute teacher license
On-site training! We offer a 6 month mentor program and initial and ongoing training and professional development in therapeutic crisis intervention (TCI), our REStArT treatment model, and working in trauma informed classrooms
Allendale's specialized educational services program is designed and dedicated to help students advance their academic skills, build self-confidence and independence, and identify and reach personal goals through an individualized K-12 therapeutic day school program. Our school focuses on both education and treatment that is youth and family centered with an emphasis on student interests and adaptive skills.
We are seeking full-time paraprofessionals to provide direct care and supervision of clients within the milieu in accordance with the agency treatment program including agency behavior treatment plan (ABTP) and universal rules. Under direct supervision of teaching staff, provides assistance in the area of instruction and classroom management to ensure a quality learning environment for the students. Under the direct supervision on the unit coordinator, implements individual and group programming on the units during non-school days.
