Job Details
Base Pay: $18.25 per hour
1st Shift: 6:45 am - 3:15 pm
The
Glass Optimizer
is responsible for the cutting and organizing of glass to be processed into insulated glass units. Successful candidates enjoy working in a fast-paced, physically demanding, and repetitive work environment, which includes heavy lifting or working with your hands.
Duties and Responsibilities
Select proper glass batch on Optimizer Table computer
Consistently hold cycle time
Assist in movement of carts in and out of production work area
Communicate quality issues or mechanical issues observed
Complete quality checks
Constantly observe quality of IG units
Break scored glass and place into corresponding slots on glass cart
Drop needed glass sheets on table without autopickers
Qualifications
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and stand for duration of entire shift
Ability to move large sheets of glass.
Ability to measure with 1/32"
Ability to use computerized equipment
Ability to read and write to complete quality checklists, verify paperwork, read machine settings and cart locations
Ability to work in tandem with another operator
Ability to locate minor quality defects in glass
Must cross-train and rotate on various workstations within line/complex.
Ability to comprehend written work instructions, standard work and quality documents
Ability to move carts of glass in and out of production areas
1 - 3 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred
