Production Operator
We are looking for a production operator to join our manufacturing team in Carlisle, PA. This employee will need to be able to fill a variety of roles to support the operations in Plant 6. Activities include, assisting with general operations on mixers and in the cut-off room, filling roles as required due to vacation and unscheduled call-offs. Employee may be required to cross train as needed.
Compensation: $27.21 to start, $31.36 after 6 months. $1.00 shift differential per hour while working 3rd shift.
Schedule: 3rd shift: 11:00pm - 7:30am.
Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, being able to perform the tasks of the following jobs:
Fill cans or pails for weathered membrane cleaner
Mix and drum Indopol Blend at the M4 day tank for water Cut-off mastic and lap sealant batches
Distill cleaners
Packaging Cut-Edge Sealant, including setting up and cleaning fill equipment
Assist with keeping the Prosys cartridge magazine filled while running
Provide absentee coverage for employees
Labeling cans or pails
Support other mixers to minimize downtime
Load and unload trucks or tankers
Verify load accuracy both incoming and outgoing against shipping paperwork
Provide raw materials for production area
Remove finished goods from production area
Communicate with other members of the plant and outside delivery personnel
Maintain proper housekeeping
Assist with setting up cans at the canning line when available
Understand packaging and processing specifications
Maintain the collection of used pails from the dock area
Assist other areas with tasks such as packaging, loading belts, and canning
Granulating rubber when scheduling demand requires
At times, this role will be used to cover other positions during scheduled vacation or unscheduled call-offs.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge:
General awareness of the HMI panels
Fork truck operation
Packaging of skids
Loading and unloading of trucks and tankers
5S requirements
Lockout/Tagout procedures
Loading & weighing mixer belts
Skills:
Reading and comprehension of orders, labels, safety data sheets, and gauges
Basic mathematical calculations
Writing and filling out any required documentation
Driving a fork truck
Abilities:
Working independently
Ability to be cleared for respirator use
Flexibility in working duties as requirements will fluctuate based on production and labor needs of the day
Education & Experience: Manufacturing or warehouse experience preferred.

Plant ambient temperature in the summer matches outside temperature
Plant is heated in the winter
Pinch points on moving mechanical equipment
Works with hot drums of Indopol
Sharp edges on safety knives
Heavy equipment includes use of fork truck when assigned
Uniforms are issued and laundered by company
Can be fast paced
Time Worked:
Monday
Friday with Saturday/Sunday overtime as business requires
Three-shift operation
Physical Requirements:
Climbing
must climb into and out of fork truck
Stooping
when placing finished product cartons of pallets
Crouching
when filling 5-gallon pails
Standing
may stand for majority of shift
Walking
may walk to take finished goods to skid or to get empty containers
Pushing
need to occasionally push 55-gallon drum on skid or full cartons on a skid
Pulling
need to occasionally pull pallet jack or cartons off a table
Lifting
may need to lift bags or cans (occasionally up to 62 lbs.) (Vacuum hoist is used as necessary)
Grasping
must grasp various controls of the fork truck
Reaching
reach to get empty tubes or empty pails or empty cans
Talking & Hearing
must communicate with other members of plant and outside delivery personnel as necessary
Sight
see hazards, warnings, Safety Data Sheets, etc.
