Cabinet Engineer
Position: Cabinet Engineer
Location: Proximity to Islandia, NY
Company/Industry: Custom millwork and architectural specialties manufacturer
Schedule: On-site, Mon-Fri
Salary: $100-120K, depending on experience, with flexibility for the right candidate
Type: Direct hire with benefits
Key Responsibilities
Produce detailed shop drawings for custom cabinets and architectural millwork (AutoCAD/Microvellum or similar).
Create cut lists, hardware schedules, BOMs, and CNC programs.
Coordinate with PMs, shop leads, and field supervisors to confirm measurements, resolve discrepancies, and support fabrication.
Ensure drawings meet industry standards and internal construction methods.
Identify constructability issues and propose practical solutions.
Maintain organized engineering files, revisions, and production documentation.
Support continuous improvement of templates, libraries, and CNC workflows.
Qualifications
5+ years in cabinetmaking, millwork engineering, or commercial woodworking drafting.
Strong AutoCAD skills; Microvellum/Cabinet Vision a plus.
Solid understanding of woodworking construction, tolerances, and AWI standards.
Ability to read architectural drawings and generate CNC programs.
Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $100,000.00 - $120,000.00
