The Associate
Retail Store plays a key role in delivering a positive customer experience during Fish Friday operations. This role is responsible for packing and distributing customer orders, supporting Shopify and POS transactions, maintaining accurate inventory records, and assisting customers both in-store and curbside. The ideal candidate is customer-focused, detail-oriented, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Part-Time role on Friday Only! Hours are 6am - ~1pm (Friday Only).
Key Responsibilities:
Pack and fulfill retail orders accurately and in accordance with customer notes and order specifications.
Operate the Shopify POS system to process transactions, issue refunds, and manage order changes as needed.
Adjust inventory levels in Shopify and mark items out of stock on the Fish Friday website as required.
Monitor product quantities during fulfillment, notifying appropriate personnel when stock is low.
Document any product pulled from Acme Brooklyn inventory for retail use.
Assist customers with curbside pick-up and ensure a friendly, seamless service experience.
Respond to customer inquiries or concerns in a timely and professional manner.
Support opening and closing procedures for Fish Friday as assigned.
Prepare for high-volume holiday periods, including working additional hours to review, stage, and build orders.
Other duties as assigned.
What Makes You a Great Fit:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
2+ years in a manufacturing or similar environment preferred (not required).
Background in retail, customer service, or food handling is a plus.
Experience working with POS systems (cashless environment; no cash handling required).
Demonstrated ability to engage with customers and adapt to different personalities.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-first mindset.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
High attention to detail and accuracy in order fulfillment and inventory tracking.
Basic math skills to support inventory adjustments and transactions.
Positive attitude with a proactive, team-oriented approach.
Willingness to learn, complete training, and follow standard operating procedures.
Familiarity with Shopify or POS systems, or the ability to quickly learn new technology.
Compensation: $30.00/hour.
Workspace Environment:
Comfortable working in a warehouse and production environment with extended periods of standing and walking.
Capable of bending, stretching, twisting, and reaching with the body, arms, and legs to perform job tasks.
Willing and able to wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
Comfortable working in cold (-10 to 45F) and wet environments.
Able to reach above and below shoulder height and move throughout all areas of the facility.
Capable of climbing stairs.
Physically capable of lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying objects using multiple muscle groups (hands, arms, back, shoulders, core, and legs).
